About Us
In short, we don’t just fill out paperwork for you and send you on your way. We strive to serve as your counselors for life.
Martin T. Yarnell, J.D.
Martin Yarnell has been practicing law for more than 30 years. After graduating from Southwestern University School of Law’s innovative SCALE program (the only American Bar Association-approved, two-year, full-time accelerated law school curriculum), Martin joined a large firm in Los Angeles. While he gained valuable experience, he soon realized that the large-firm environment, where billable hours often take precedence over client interests and personal service, was not for him.
When the opportunity arose to establish his own firm, he leaped at the chance.
As an independent practitioner, Martin limits the size of his practice in order to fully meet the needs of each and every client. This approach is particularly important in estate planning. Martin believes the most effective plans are the result of close collaboration between attorney and client, as well as the client’s existing accountant, financial professional, and other trusted advisors.
Marty married his college sweetheart Caryn. Together they are the proud parents of twin daughters and Martin is active in the community. He has served for many years in youth soccer as a board member and referee, and as a club and high school soccer coach for his daughters’ teams.
Martin welcomes you to contact his firm for a personal meeting and the opportunity to provide you with personalized service for years to come.

Our Planning Process

Initial Consultation
We offer Estate Planning clients a complimentary initial consultation. During this meeting, we will discuss your goals and suggest possible legal solutions.
Intake Meeting
During the intake meeting, you will further describe your needs, plans, and goals. We explain and design a plan with specific provisions to meet these needs and goals. After this meeting, we begin drafting the agreed-upon plan.
Review and Signing of Documents
Approximately three to four weeks after the design meeting, we will have a follow-up meeting during which you sign documents and the implementation of the plan begins. During this meeting, we will thoroughly explain the planning documents, explain how to fund trusts (if any), and provide instructions on how to complete the funding process. Or, if you wish, we will be happy to handle the funding for you at our hourly rate.
Ongoing Client Care
At the Law Office of Martin T. Yarnell, the signing of documents is not considered the end of our relationship with clients. We encourage clients to contact our office whenever they have questions about any aspect of their planning. We strive to serve as our clients’ counselors for life.
